Social counseling helps to find individual solutions, together with the students, to issues such as: covering the cost of living, pregnancy and child care as well as life planning in general. The social counselor is a social worker who diagnoses and treats the mental, behavioral and emotional issues of individuals, couples, families, and groups. They may work in institutions, such as healthcare facilities, or be in private practice, which requires administrative and record-keeping skills. In a social case, the client is enabled to understand his problems. In social casework, the emphasis is basically on the client and the type of service to be provided but in counseling, an emphasis is laid on the problem, not the person concerned.
