: She has a thousand names and faces- and countless tasks and talents. Devi is mostly portrayed as a beautiful yellow woman riding her lion. For many Hindus, Devi's greatest strength is that she embodies all aspects of womanhood. Her most renowned victory is the slaying of buffalo demon. She effortlessly pulls the demon out of his buffalo body with a red nose. She is one of the five Primary forms of Brahman that is revered. In Hindu traditions, Devi embodies the active energy and power of Deva, and they always appear together complementing each other. In Hinduism, Goddesses are the divine representation of the cosmos ad they are complementary to their male counterparts. Both the masculine and the feminine deities complete the divinity of the universe. Female deities are functional deities with each goddess representing a part of shakti and the cosmos.
